Green act of the day: I got a library card. As a kid, it was a huge thrill to go to the library on Saturday mornings and get books for the week. As I got older, we stopped going, I lost my library card and now I rarely ever pick up a book. There are a few books on my wish list, and I was about to go out and buy them, when I asked myself if that is money I really want to spend when I can rent books for free at a library. Let's also consider the environmental impact of purchasing books. Printed books require ink and paper, packaging, transporting from warehouse to bookstore, etc.- all to read one time? Maybe twice? Borrowing books, getting second hand or E-books are all much friendlier alternatives to buying books.
For the rest of the year, I will visit the library instead of purchasing if there is a book I wish to read.

Wow!! I never thought of it that way Nikki!! Great idea!!
Great idea nicole! Not only are library books eco friendly, but free!
I've also been wanting to check out kindle because I love all the paper that is saved through ebooks. But again, the library is free haha and I love having the book in my hand ; )

I love my ebook reader but go to the library for books I can't get in electronic form. I recently found a great site, paperbackswap.com. You can trade your unwanted books with others there.
