Day 32- That Blinkin' Clock

I don't like it when the house is too quiet. I like to have some kind of background noise. Since our only TV is downstairs, I had found an old radio alarm clock and plugged it in in the kitchen so that I could listen to the radio. I never bother to set the time because we already have a clock in the kitchen, so it just sits there and blinks. Today I started to wonder just how much energy it requires to power the clock that isn't even used to keep time. In all honesty, it probably doesn't suck up a lot of power, but does it make sense to have it plugged in and running if it is not serving a purpose most of the time? From now on, I will be unplugging it when I'm not using it to listen to the radio.
