Day 40- The Green Throne

So, yesterday I mentioned that with Valentine's Day coming up, my green actions would center around love. Well, that was before today when we purchased a low flow toilet for the basement bathroom we are building. Certainly not my idea of love, but it was a green purchase. Because toilets require a lot of water to do their work, it is important to select a low flush toilet to save water.

Nicole, I am navywife2b on canadianbride and I have a suggestion for another way to save on toilet water, a lady I rented a room in her house years ago followed this practice. She kept a large plastic bowl in the sink to collect water from face washing, ect and then had a couple large plastic buckets in the washroom that she would fill she would then pour this water into the toilet to flush so she was recycling water already wasted. it worked great although I was not that great at remembering the practice (oops). I really do enjoy your blog and think its a great idea.
