Day 48- Romantic Dinner

Wednesday, February 17, 2010
I think I can safely say that we are finally on the mend! The three of us managed to keep down everything we ate. Progress! Andrew and I decided that since our Valentine's Day plan was ruined due to illness, we would have our romantic dinner tonight. Ooohhh man! Was it ever good.

What was on the menu? BBQ'd steak, lobster tails, creamy dill potatoes and cooked carrots with butter and dill. Delicious. Andrew took care of the lobster tails, I did the rest. I decided on a new green change while cooking- using the lids on the pots (something I rarely do). How is this eco friendly? Without a lid, more of the heat can escape through the top of the pot. Using the lid allows the heat to collect quicker and will boil your water faster. The less time the stove burners need to be on, the more energy you'll save. So, that is what I did for my potatoes and carrots tonight, and what I will be sure to do for the rest of my going green challenge!
