Today once we got home, I loaded up the dishwasher in an attempt to make the kitchen look less disastrous. I ended up using up the rest of the dishwasher detergent. I had been using Legacy of Clean detergent, which I really liked (and can be purchased here), but I figured it might be more eco-friendly of me to make my own. That way I know exactly what is in it and I save on the packaging, shipping, etc.. So that is what I did, and I will share with you my recipe:
Dishwasher Detergent
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda
Yep, that's all. Dishwasher soap on the cheap! Whether or not it actually works, I'm not sure yet, but I will let you know.

Glad you guys are feeling better , Have a wonderful weekend, T.
I tried that same recipe but found it didn't quite cut it. So now I use 1 part eco-friendly dishwasher soap, 1 part borax, and 1 part borax. That seems to do it. I also use white vinegar in the Jet Dry compartment instead of Jet-dry and find the dishes even more sparkly than before.
